My background

Like many people today I have had a varied and interesting career across several sectors. As a student I was involved in social justice, environmental and anti-apartheid activism. My first degree was in philosophy and religion, whilst my masters was in agroforestry and community land conservation. I have worked in language teaching around the world, in countryside access, managed a retreat centre and worked as a university researcher for projects in Ethiopia and Burkina Faso. I am a trained and certified co-active coach and have been coaching for 10 years.

I live near the sea on the south coast of England with my partner and my cat. I enjoy photography, and of course keeping up to date with scientific and philosophical literature.

I am a certified CO-ACTIVE coach and an founding member of the Deep Adaptation Facilitation community.

My passion

Coaching enlivens me more than anything else, I am constantly amazed and humbled by my collaborators (I prefer that term to ‘clients’).

Despite years of practice I often struggle to keep my composure under the shadow of what is happening on Earth. But in deep conversation with others I am constantly reminded of the beauty, truth and resilience that animates our humanity, and the more-than-human world.

I consider the work I do to be sacred.
